From My Personal Vault

For today’s blog, another trip down memory lane in Contemporary Christian Music.

In 1995, I produced and directed a documentary at the GMA (Gospel Music Association) convention in Nashville. All the labels had showcases at night around town in various music clubs. Here, we go over to Printers Alley in Nashville for the Street Level Agency Artist showcase, and feature a blazing hot performance by legendary guitarist Phil Keaggy. This was a very small club, and as it turned out, I filmed him from less than 10 feet away, so it was like a private performance for me The most amazing part is when he tuned down his bottom E string, making the tuning the step down riff using only the machine head and nailed it perfectly, not missing a beat along the way!
