Latest Happenings
An update on the progress in getting all the songs completed for the soundtrack to my Broadway Musical show, Parables. It’s written for Broadway, anyway, but I guess I should just say Musical, for the moment. :)
The month of June has been very busy. I started off the first of the month in Goshen, AL, doing a mini-concert type thing at the Goshen Baptist Church. I very much enjoyed this, and they have a great bunch of folks there in the congregation. My friends Tim and Cathy Dowdy are musical directors there. Cathy led our choral group, The Atlanta Memorial Singers, on our tour of France and Germany, so we became well acquainted during that time.
A week later, I was in Nashville for vocal sessions with eight fabulous singers, I can’t wait for everyone to hear the result, it’s going to be quite impressive! I haven’t got it all to the point of being ready to mix yet. I have another instrumental interlude to insert, along with writing an exciting intro, which I don’t have yet, the song just jumps right in full scale choir. I am working out ideas with my Arranger/Producer, Fletch Wiley.
Getting back home here in Atlanta, I’ve begun working with a local studio to lay down the parts for upcoming vocal sessions with Tom Lane, my vocal director in Nashville. We are working for the second night this week, I’m happy with the progress. I always love working with a talented ProTools engineer, those guys always amaze me at what they do. And the speed with which they do it! I have such huge respect for sound engineers, they really are the ones who really sail the ship, so to speak.

A short excerpt from the vocal sessions, this is doing a stack over some counter melody/harmony parts, sounding great!
I am now approaching having completed half of the songs. A long way to go yet, but I’m super pleased with everything and everyone involved. Doing a remix of “Love Burns Like A Fire” with 4 of these vocalists, and Tom Lane performing the lead vocal.
I’m super psyched and incredibly blessed!
